How many times have you found yourself yawning during a death by powerpoint zoom call or reaching for a coffee and biscuit mid afternoon?
I don’t know about you but over the last 12 crazy months I’ve been exhausted and it’s not because I’ve been over run with work is it?!
So I thought I’d give you a few ideas to help boost your mood but also have added bonuses for your skin too.
Firstly set a good sleep routine, try to go to bed and get up at the same time every day. Your body likes routine and it helps it to relax easier without wondering ‘what’s next?’ Use room/bedding sprays scented with lavender, (no it’s not an old wives tale), have a soak in a warm, but not over hot, bath containing one of our bath and body blends. If you don’t have a bath then use as a body oil and apply especially onto your upper chest so that you breathe in the aromas. Use blue light glasses in an evening and try to have no screen time for at least 30 mins before bed. An easy way to do this is by using a ‘spacemask’ which is a fabulous self heating eye mask scented with jasmine for 30 mins that will make you lay and relax. Aim for 7 hours minimum of sleep.
Instead of reaching for coffee choose water instead. Not only will it give you more energy it will also give you clearer skin too. Limit high sugar snacks as you will quickly lull again and feel worse.
Get some fresh air and move! The quickest way to change your state is to change your state! Walk, jump, run, hop, I don’t care. Just make sure you have your SPF on! Nobody needs to get aged skin because of a walk on my watch!! If you are working at your desk all day then at least get up and walk around, stretch your body and fill your lungs with air as I bet you’ve been shallow breathing for hours!
Once we can reopen try a relaxation focussed treatment such as reflexology, Indian head or Stressbuster massage. Or a more targeted one like Trigger Point Release and Relax or Reflexion and Rebalance.
Finally ask us next time you are in salon to show you some facial massage techniques that will help you to switch off and relax your hard working (from smiling, not frowning obvs) facial muscles. We are always happy to show you techniques and the products we use ourselves.
Hope this helps and that we can chill you all out soon!!
